Trip Advisory Ranikhet

Best time to visit
It can be choosen as a year round destination but March to May being summers is the peak season and too much rush is experienced. The best time to visit the place is September to November. The days are hot but nights are cold.

History
Ranikhet is known as the Queen's meadow in Hindi. The story of Rani Padmini liking and choosing the place has no grounds because there is no palace in this place. The British set up their cantonment and used it a retreat during summer months.

Geography
Ranikhet is a small town at 6,132 ft. Pine, Oak, and Deodar forests make up the entire topography. Wildlife spotting is occasional in the mountains as the villagers put in. The nearest railway station is Kathgodam, approximately 115 km from Ranikhet. Pantnagar Airport is the nearest airport.
