Stay

Stay was at Club Mahindra Naukuchital then visit Sattal and Nainital.

Dusshera holidays and we plan out a quiet outing in the lap of Himalayas, last year it was Ranikhet and this year its not far Naukuchiatal....a serene, beautiful place not far from the bustling tourist centre of Nainital.

Naukuchiatal or 'lake of nine corners' is a less explored place in the hill town of Uttarakhand, has one of the deepest lakes of the state. The depth measured is somewhere near 175ft, is a paradise for angling and bird watching. Just nearby the lake at walking distance was our resort, so we had the liberty to walk down to enjoy the scenic lake and its surroundings. Birds are a plenty, so early morning and evening treks are promising. There is a Hanuman temple nearby,it has a 52m Hanuman statue with an artificial cave like the one in Vaishno devi. The resort is the sort of place for a quiet relaxing vacation with delicious food of course.

The next day we hired a taxi, the local guys were ready to show us Sattal, Nainital and around for just Rs 1000/- The rain played spoil sport as it was drizzling right from the morning. Still we had a good time enjoying the breath taking views of the Himalayas...some random clicks, view the photologue and after lunch we were back. The mall road has lots of shops....but what garnered some interest was the candle shop....where we picked a few scented candles.

The evening saw some quiet moments beside the lake....and the next day we were in the way back home. A short but rejuvenating weekend. Some pics....
