Places to see in & around Kanatal
Kodia forest - Just in front of Club Mahindra Kanatal is the entry to the Kodia jungle. A relatively easy trek for around 6 kms with the view of Himalayas. A bird watchers delight and a beautiful place for nature photography too. There are jeeps which can take you too.
Tehri dam - 30 kms apart is the Tehri dam. The dam is in the midst of high mountains which are submerged in water.
Surkanda devi temple - Around 8 kms from our hotel is the temple. It is at a height of 10,000ft and has a trek of nearly 2 kms which is climb uphill. Its easy and doable with breaks. Recently a new temple has been built here. The views from the top are stunning.
Dhanaulti - Around 20 kms away is the Jungle of deodhar, rhododendron and oak forests. The beauty of the place is worth explorable. The Dhanaulti eco park has come up well for the nature lovers.
Mussoorie - is around 30 kms from Kanatal. The place is quite famous being a much sought after hill station.
Chamba - is 16 kms from Kanatal and has excellent views of The mighty himalayas.
New Tehri - is around 35 kms away and was built after the Tehri dam. There is nothing much to see here apart from the dam
