What to see in

Orchha (119 kms from Gwalior, 16 kms from Jhansi)
Orchha's grandeur has been captured in stone, frozen in time, a rich legacy of all ages. The palaces and temples built by the Bundela rulers in the 16th and 17th centuries retain much of their pristine perfection. Founded in the 16th century, Orchha boasts of the exquisite Jehangir Mahal and tired palace crowned by graceful chhatris. In Raj Mahal and Laxminarayan temple vibrant murals bring the walls and celings alive.

Khajuraho
The temples of Khajuraho are India's unique gift to the world, representing a paean to love, life and joy, perfect in execution and sublime in expression. Life in every form and mood has been captured in stone, testifying to the craftsmen's  artistry and the extraordinary breadth of the vision of the Chandela Rajputs.  The Khajuraho temples were built in a short span of a hundred years, from 950-1050 A.D. in a truly inspired burst of creativity. Of the 85 original temples, 22 still survive consitituting one of the world's greatest artistic wonders.
