What to see
Khajuraho
The temples of Khajuraho are India's unique gift to the world, representing a paean to life and joy, perfect in execution and sulime in expression. Life, in every form, mood has been captured here in stone testifying to the craftsman's artistry and the extraordinary breadth of vision of the Chandela Rajputs.
Panna National Park (44 kms from Khajuraho)
Located long the Ken River. It has a variety of wildlife, including leopards, nilgais (antelope), chittals (spotted deer), langur monkeys and sambars. Sadly, poachers have reduced the number of the park's most famous resident, the Royal Bengal Tiger, to just three (who were brought in from other parks).
