Nature finds many ways to express herself here in the hills of Pachmarhi. The valley ravines and maze of gorges sculpted in red sandstone by wind and weather aeons ago add to this natural palatte.

Abounding in rivers, valleys, waterfalls and dense forests, it is a resort for all seasons. Leopards, Indian Bisons, Langurs and Sambars can be found in the forests of Pachmarhi. The cave shelters in Mahadeo hills contain an exquisite collection of rock paintings. Most of them have been places in the period 500-800 A.D but the earliest paintings are an estimated 10,000 years old.
