Champavat is 1615 kms above sea level. Champavat is wellknown for many ancient temples. The Baleshwar temple is the noted attraction of Champawat. The Nagnath temple at Champawat is also an excellent example of ancient architecture of Kumaon. It was in Champawat that Lord Vishnu is said to have appeared as 'Kurma avatar' (incarnation as tortoise). This hill is also known as Mt. Kandev. There is a small fort at Champawat.

The Nilaparvat, situated between the rivers Saryu and Gomti is inhabited by all the 33 crore Gods of the Hindu pantheon. The shrine of Bageswar the, "Tiger Lord", a form of Lord Shiva. There is many temples here. A beautiful temple dedicated to Goddess Chandika stands at a distance of about half a kilometre from Bageshwar. Sriharu temple, is situated at a distance of about 5 kms. from Bageshwer. The devotees believe that prayers for wish fulfilment here never go in vein. Every year, a large fair is organised on the Vijaya Dashami day following the Navratras.

Uttarakhand is a state located in the northern part of India. It was carved out of Himalayan and adjoining districts of Uttar Pradesh. Tourism play a prominent role in Uttarakhand's economy, with the Corbett National Park and Tiger Reserve and the nearby hill-stations of Nainital, Mussoorie, Almora, Kausani, Bhimtal and Ranikhet being amongst the most frequented destinations of India.

Baijnath

26 kms from Bageshwar. The remnants of those glorious days lies at the bank of the Gomti river in the form of a group of temples. The temple is famous for it's ancient and magnificent stone idol of the Hindu goddess Parvati. Around 8 KMs from Baijnath on the Gwaldam road is lies the famous Kotkimai temple.

Kanda

This picturesque place is a treat for nature lovers and is situated at a distance of 25 kms from Bageshwar. An ancient Bhadrakali temple stands very near to Kanda. The hills of Kanda are very attractive.

Tea gardens.

The tea gardens Vijaypur and Saniudayar were established in the time of British rule. They are 5km from Kanda, and the tea is completely organic.

Pandusthal

was the battle ground where 'Kauravas' and 'Pandavas' had fought. There exists a natural ground half a km in breadth. The Himalaya is so near that one can get an excellent view of the ranges.

Vijaypur

It is situated at a distance of 30 kms from Bageshwar town. One can have a panaromic view of the snow capped Himalayan range from here. Because of it's high altitude the view is breath taking.

Pindari Glacier, Sunderdhunga Glacier, Kaphni Glacier

Along the Pindar river to it's source on the glacier are Nandakot (6,860 m), Chhanguch (6,322 m) and Nandaghunti (6,310 m). On the east and west of Pindari glacier are the Kaphni, at the foot of Nandakot and Sunderdhunga glaciers. One can have a good trek here.
