Built towards the end of the 16th century Tarn taran is associated with the 5th Guru Arjan Dev.  It is one of the most important sites of the Sikh religion.


How to reach Anandpur Sahib

Taran Taran is only 22 kms away from Amritsar, the nearest airport and railhead. The easiest access is by road, taxis and buses.


What to see

Darbar Sahib Sri Guru Arjan Dev, the premier Gurudwara is the main attraction. It was built under the stewardship of Sardar Budh Singh and Sardar Jassa Singh Ramgarhia after the site was cleared of muslim intruders and encroachments. The gilt domed structure faces the holy tank the construction of which is initiated by Guru Arjan Dev.

A leper asylum Dukh nivaran started by the 5th Guru is nearby. It was taken over by the Christain missionaries in the 19th century.
