The Maharana Pratap Sagar lake and its 42 kms length and 2 kms breadth serves as a substantial inland sea that offers variety of activities in close collaboration with Himachal tourism and the Directorate of Mountaineering and Allied sports. Year long activities include swimming, water skiing, surfing, kayaking, rowing, canoeing and sailing. Three levels of courses are also conducted beginers, intermediate and advanced.
Similar activities are also available at the Gobind Sagar near Bilaspur the Chamera lake near Dalhousie and the Pandoh lake on the Mandi-Manali highway. boating is also available on the Renuka lake in the district of Sirmour. Regattas are organised at different points of year at various places. As the dates may vary from year to year these and other deatils may be taken from the offices of Himachal tourism.
